Erhu is a traditional Chinese string instrument. About a thousand years ago it originated from the nationalities in northern China. After thousand of years of development, it has been popular in many performance forms, especially in solo, and is widely used in Chinese traditional opera accompaniment.
Goals of the course: After 4 months of practice you should be able to play short Erhu plays.
Instrument: To purchase an instrument, please contact the teacher one month in advance.
The Teacher
Alina Jianmei Xiang (M.A. in Music) graduated from Hunan Normal University in 2003. In 2000 she received a Golden Award in the Chinese Traditional Instruments Competition of Hunan Province.
